Such crowds and a welcome ovation weren’t seen in the Cracow Philharmonic for years.

Cracow’s musical folk have literally gone crazy about Rafał Blechacz. He didn’t let them down. (...) Musical emotions have only gone up from the very beginning, starting with the moment Blechacz commenced his programme with Chopin’s solo pieces – the Barcarolle in F-sharp Major, the Nocturne in B-Major op. 62, the Polonaise in A-flat Major op. 53 or the phenomenally played D-flat Major, C-sharp Minor and A-flat Major Waltzes Op. 64. A hearty ovation and cries of admiration exploded before the last notes of the orchestra have resounded in Chopin’s E-minor Concerto – a piece that Blechacz has probably most enchanted the public with.
